Looking Ahead: Resolutions for 2009

These resolutions for 2009 aren't original but actually quite commen. People like me who strive for the best they can be would understand all the resolutions that should be made. These resolutions are . . . . . . . . .

1) To take better care of myself.
* To follow through on this resolution I must try to sleep more so i'm not so tired all the day, to eat better so I am not as skinny as I was, to not over stress myself with everything happening in my work life ( I must realize that not perfect grades or records wont stop me from following my dreams). If I do this I'll feel better phisically and mentaly. I have gone to school without sleeping and not absored the knowledge I go to school for. To take better care of myself is difficult, understanding its a habbit, but if I do this life will be a lot more appreciated. Their is only one life to live you know.

2) To be more organized.
* To follow through on this resolution I must train myself to do certain things every day. Pick up my bed every morning before going to school - no matter how bored and aganized doing the bed makes me feel -, instead of throwing my clothes on the bathroom floor I must put them in the hamper, and instead of of filing all my papers I miust file them, I will file them. If I am more organized my life will run smoother, and simply be easier.

3) To be more considerate of others.
* To follow through on this resolution I must change the way I act, I must try to care for someone other than my self. I must act less selfish, and more selfless. This change of will shall be difficult, but it can be done. To do this I will train myself, instead of saying, "what do I want," I shall say what do they want. Instead of being lazy saying, "I have nothing to do," I shall say, "I'm done what can I do for you." (And) Instead of caring for my well fare, I will care other peoples ware fare. I'm not as selfish as these words progress, but I could do better with being kind and helpful for other people. It takes time, but if I start now I will have a head start for the new year of 2009.

These songs that I write now in these few words shall be what I want to do for 2009, it shall represent what I cnan change or do for hte new year. These songs and the lines that represent the parts of my life that represent the most to me are . . . . . . . .

Looking Back: The Soundtrack of 2008

The soundtrack of my life in 2008 doesn't even closely describe my year and all of its ups and downs, but these songs do tell certain parts that I believe are most important to me. These songs and the representive lines that mean the most to me are . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

1) Orishas feat. Heather Headley - Represent, Cuba =)
* Quote: Mira, ay quien no baila en Havana
# Explain: This quote represents my summer to the amazing Cuba, the land of my family.
In translation this quote means -> Look their is a person who doesn't dance in Havana. I am a gringa ( person who could hardly be considered a Cuban because of how non load and hispanic they act ) by heart, an American to the core with an hispanic exterior. But when I went to Cuba, I felt happy not having to act a certain American way, I danced like a columbian when I went but they didn't care. Family doesn't care how you act, your religion, or etc. They just care that you came to see them before you grew up to much. I hadn't seen my grandma since I was six months old, and when she saw my teenaged face tears ran down her 92 year old face. Cuba is free like a bird, you can fly wherever you want (only on Cuban territory, in America mothers anfd fathers are afraid of the very streets their children walk on because of certain violence and dangers). I had a beautiful time their to see my long time no see or ever saw relatives, it was a privelege and a part of my life that I can never forget, --- extra fun details not included.
2) Kai Tracid - Life Is Too Short Lyrics =)
* Quote: Life is to short, dont stress everyday
# Explain: This quote represents my work life, which in 2008 I feel represented most of my time. All through 8th grade and now the time I've spent in highschool I've been over stressing myself, thinking that if I dont do my best I wont succede in life. I went through lack of sleep, lack of eating, and just not taking care of myself. I now in 9th grade am trying to be more healthy and take better care of myself.
3) In My Daughter's Eyes - Martina McBride =)
* Quote: In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
# Explain: This quote represents the way I feel for my mother in 2008 and all the time before that and after. She has supported me all through this year, she has given me posotive reinforcement when having my melt downs, without her by my side 2008 would have been a lot different. Who would I have traveled with, studied with, seen movies with. She is my role model, my hero, the one who I teel all my
secrets to, with her I have the rest of the world to see, but in 2008 it was mostly the the end of middle school and the start for the new house we now bought and are fxing up today in date. This quote shows that she is my hero, and the explination shows us what we did together.
